Oh, snap!
Sleeeeeeeeeef… Want.

Nice! 7D með svona Panavision/widescreen add-on. Mjög kúl… There’s a revolution going on.

Kúl, ljósmyndari að tala um hvernig hann tók myndir af Eyjafjallajökli og eldingum.
Note to self: Fara betur í gegnum þessa grein.

Góðar ráðleggingar. Ég nota þessi trick reglulega.
I’m calling it now: The laptop starts dying tomorrow.
IT’S HAPPENED BEFOREAs someone in both the photo and the tech world, I’ve seen (and spoken about) the point and shoot camera’s declining relevance.
Ten years ago, they couldn’t make those thing fast enough. Then one day someone put a camera into a phone.
It took a while, but the cameraphone has slowly, quietly, and almost completely replaced the point and shoot for many people. Cameraphones are simpler, more convenient (smaller) and, for 99% of situations, they are good enough.
When you need a really great photograph you use an SLR. The rest of the time, you use a phone. The point and shoot is dying, relegated to a niche middle ground.
IT’S ABOUT TO HAPPEN AGAINThe same’s about to start happening in the computer hardware market. Laptops have always been a compromise solution. They’re awkward and unergonomic, slow compared to their desktop counterparts, have poor battery life, and are just as complex and confusing to operate as their larger brethren.
Enter the iPad. Simpler, more convenient, and for 99% of uses, good enough. See a pattern?
Yes, the first version will be flawed. Yes, it will be hard to tear your beloved laptop out of your hands. Yes, it won’t live up to all of its promises. Yes, it will take time. Maybe years.
And, like your cameraphone, it’s going to sneak up on you. But one day, pretty soon, you’ll realize that you haven’t used your laptop in days. That you tend to grab your iPad first whenever you need to visit a website or answer email. That your laptop never leaves your desk anymore.
It starts tomorrow.
I can’t agree with this statement/prediction completely. There are certain situations (like concerts) where you don’t want to lump around a DSLR but you still want to get some decent photos so you bring your point & shoot which has better ISO, optical zoom, image stabilizer, etc. - cameraphone vs. point & shoot.
Skipping the laptop completely… I don’t see it. For example, musicians that use their laptop when performing live, I doubt they’ll be bringing their huge desktop computers to a show - and they’re not going to run Ableton Live (or Logic or whatever) on the iPad / Tablet.
For some users a cameraphone or an iPad might be enough but definitely not everybody.
50mm f/0.75…
FUCK.
What he said.
Er þetta ekki eitthvað djók?! f/0.75?? Þessi linsa basically býr til ljós.
A few months ago Scott came by and interviewed me for a couple pages in this book. Pick up a copy and get your “creative” on!
Preorder here: Making Ideas Happen: Overcoming the Obstacles Between Vision and Reality
Nice! Viðtal við Noah Kalina (sem er einn af uppáhalds ljósmyndurunum mínum) í Making Ideas Happen. Hlakka til að fá hana - pre-order-aði hana í vikunni. Kemur út 15. apríl - vonandi tekur það ekki 2 mánuði fyrir Amazon að senda hana hingað.

Nice. Nætur hlutinn var sérstaklega töff. Örlítið flottara en Reykjavik Nightlife in Miniature ;)

This is what a camera looks like if you cut it in half! How on Earth did they accomplish this so cleanly? Also: look at all those lens elements!
Magnað! Mjög áhugavert að skoða inn í svona myndavél og linsu…
Jahá… það er ekki ókeypis að pósta sniðugum myndum á netið löglega. Hvað ætli Getty taki stóran skammt af þessu? Kannski að maður ætti að skella nokkrum myndum í Getty gagnagrunninn og reyna fjármagna þessa “fíkn” ;) Reyndar vesen að maður þarf að fá model releases og property releases ef maður er með fólk eða byggingar í myndinni.
