Google is using us to track us more closely.

I’ve been noticing these CAPTCHAs with photos of numbers (that look like house numbers) on websites that usethe reCAPTCHA service (that Google bought a few years ago). My guess is that Google is using the service to make sure they are registering the correct street numbers on Google Maps (Street View).

A word about Gmail Tap (by Google)

Google CAPTCHA (aka. The Devil’s answering machine)

Have you ever listened to a CAPTCHA on one of Google’s sites (like when you’re signing up for Gmail)?

I’m glad I don’t have to rely on the audio version of Google’s CAPTCHAs. I’m not getting what’s being said (it sounds like when you play a record backwards)… Not that it’s any easier to read their CAPTCHAs.

Also, why isn’t Google using reCAPTCHA that they acquired in 2009?!

Þetta er ástæðan fyrir því að mér finnst kúl að vera hjá DreamHost. Google tilkynnti þessa nýju græju í gær og DreamHost liðið er strax búið að skella þessu inn.

Búinn að virkja þetta á flestum lénum hjá mér og ég er nokkuð viss um að þetta sé að auka hraðann töluvert.

Mjög gott.

Er það ekki annars? Er fólk ekki að taka eftir auknum hraða á síðunum mínum?
